Course Objective

To know the methods of modern criticism and evaluate texts (such as stories, novels, poems, plays) in this direction.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the methods of criticism
2   To determine the importance of the Turkish literary criticism
3   To evaluate literary texts in terms of criticism towards the community, artists and readers
4   To understand and interpret historical, political and social events that affect novel, short story, poetry and drama
5   To grasp trends in Turkish literature and their relations with the Western literature.
