Course Objective

This course is designed to evaluate bases and developments of Turkish social stracture from Ottoman Empaire to today.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Recognize social structure's bases of Ottmoman Turkey.
2   Recognize lifestyle in rural and urban areas at Ottoman times.
3   Recognize culture of Ottoman.
4   Recognize rise of nation state and it's political structure.
5   Realize the political, social and cultural developments which come up with national state .
6   Evaluate social structure and changing in Turkey.

2 Social Structure Inner cities, rural area and the economical life of Anatolia.

5 Effort of modernisation in Ottoman Empaire and it s effects of social-cultural life.
6 Emerging of nation state and political structures.
7 Turkish Revolation and ekonomical, social and culturel development which come up with the revolation and reactions.
8 Mid-term exam
9 Reorganization of social life from Mecelle to civil law
10 Population and population movement s as a indivication of social change
11 Urbanization as a indivication of rationalization
12 Family and family structure in modern Turkish society
13 Cultural life, education, science, art, religion in modern Turkey
14 Social classes and development of capitalism in Turkey. Evolation of development and social structures in Turkey.
