Course Objective

To evaluate the main lines of contemporary Turkish poetry, literary features, and representatives to recognize formations.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Grasp of all phases of the Turkish poetry from Tanzimat to present
2   2. Tanzimat, Servet-i Fünun facr-i Ati, National Literature (Beş Hececiler), Republican Period (Yedi Meşaleciler) and After (Garipçiler, Hisarcılar, Maviciler, Yedi Tepe, Ikinci Yeni) Turkish Poetry and important personalities to recognize All the Way.
3   Recognize the features of contemporary Turkish poetry
4   Recognize contemporary Turkish poets
5   Examine the outstanding examples of contemporary Turkish poetry

2 Evaluation of poetics from start to date
3 Types of Poetry: Epic, Lyric, Didactic Poem (Satire, fables, epos).
4 Pastoral (Idil, eclogue, Dramatic Poetry and Prosodic poetry).
5 Studies in Prose Poetry from Servet-I Fünun to Ikinci Yeni
6 Poetry, aesthetics, emotion, imagination, idea.
7 Intensity of Meaning in Poetry, The Relationship Between Language and Content.
8 Midterm Exam
9 Image in Poetry: Obscurity and Clarity in poetry
10 Speech Language Poetry and Short ellipses, Indicators and Framework of Meaning.
11 Deviations and duplicates poetic language
12 Harmony in the poem. Harmony (alliteration, assonance), rhythm (meter, rhyme, redif).
13 Pure Thoughts About Poetry and Representatives, Overview of the Issue of form in poetry.
14 Poetry, language, style and Arts and Letters.
