Course Objective

Acquire the basic knowledge about hearing amplification systems and perform hearing rehabilitation using hearing aids.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Able to describe the six basic steps used in the hearing aid selection and fitting process.
2   Able to explain the function of the basic components of digital hearing aids.
3   Know and differentiate the basic hearing aid styles.
4   Describe the design and function of a cochlear implant.
5   Knowledge about hearing aid candidacy.
6   Knowledge about selecting and fitting of appropriate hearing aids.
