Course Objective

Learning the phonology of Turkish, phonemic variations, word and sentence stress and intonation; learning the suffixation system of Turkish and the irregularities in this system, learning the word derivation and inflection systems of Turkish.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to comprehend Turkish phonology and morphology which will be the basis for teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language.
2   Ability to comprehend phonemic variations, word and sentence stress and intonation of Turkish.
3   Ability to comprehend the suffixation system of Turkish and the irregularities in this system of Turkish.
4   Ability to comprehend the word derivation and inflection systems of Turkish.
5   Ability to comprehend the phonology and morphology of Turkish in comparison with other languages.
