Course Objective

The course aims to help students to develop German vocabulary through foreign roots and affixes with a focus on their function and usages in contemporary German language; and help them to raise their awareness on the origins of German language.

1   Define the aspect and function of the words, phrases and sentences
2   Able to use the inflections and derivations consciously
3   Distinguish foreign affixes
4   Develop skills for predicting the meaning of new words
5   Translate words into the target language considering the context
