Course Objective

The main aim of this course is to help students to improve their writing skiils at the academic level. Additionally, it aims to develop their critical reading skills, to make them summarize the ideas in the texts and to give answers to various questions by using different structures and methods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand the general ambiguities and express their opinions
2   Distinguish various essay types
3   Define and apply the methods and techniques of note-taking and summarizing
4   Develop writing skills at the academic level
5   Evaluate the texts they read critically and improve their skills for giving answers to questions by summarizing the ideas in these texts and using various structures

2. Non-attendance is not accepted as an excuse for the late submission of homeworks.
3. Mid-terms, homeworks and final exam will be included in the final assessment.
