Course Objective

This course leads students to follow current issues about translations/translators in order to raise their consciousness about the role of translations/translators in the culture, and to about the occupational opportunities in Turkey and in the world.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the function of translation in the culture
2   Identify the social and ethical responsibilities of the translator.
3   Comprehend the results of their decisions after they analyze the publisher-editor-translator network.
4   Analyze and discuss the culture specific problems in translation and interpreting.
5   Explain the process of translation in the translation sector.
