Course Objective

The course aims to make sure that students acquire the knowledge and skills required for consecutive interpreting from A language into B language through miscellaneous texts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   They will enhance their active listening skills in German and Turkish.
2   They will take notes from the speech in the source language and render it clearly in the target language.
3   They will improve their rhetorical skills.
4   They will identify the problems arising while transferring Turkish culture in German language.
5   They will solve their problems arising from the cultural transfer.
6   They will be prepared to perform consecutive interpreting from Turkish into German in business life.

Assessment Criteria

1. Midterm exam will include analysis of consecutive interpreting for the information obtained.
2. Final exam will include practice of consecutive interpreting as regards the topics which have been studied until that day.
3. Midterm exam, participation, attendance and participation in final activities will be taken into consideration during assessment.
