Course Objective

The aim of this course is to acquire the basic skills of sight interpreting as a an introduction to simultaneous and consecutive interpretation.

1   List and describe various strategies of interpreting
2   Able to acquire the basic skils for fast and effective reading and apply them in translation situations
3   Prepare specialized terminology and utilize them in sight translation practices
4   Develop awareness for their passive knowledge in various fields and utilize this knowledge in actual translation situations
5   Develop a deeper awareness of the practical searching tecniques and find solutions for interpreting problems in the field

1.One mid-term and one final oral exams are given throughout the semester.
2.There will be in-class practices throughout the semester, thus students participation is included in the assessment.
3.Each student is expected to submit three individual homeworks.
