Course Objective

The aim of the course is the students acquisition of the skills to translate different types of texts from language A into language C.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn the phrases used commonly in German depending on the text type,
2   To make shifts on grammar and sentence while translating from Turkish into German,
3   To define the problems in the transfer of the Turkish culture in German,
4   To solve the problems in cultural transfer,
5   To produce texts in German.

Assessment Criteria

1. The mid-term will be based on questions on theoretical knowledge and comparative analysis of a text or its parts.
2. The final will be based on analysis and translation considering the topics that were worked on.
3. Assignments and classroom participation will be assessed based on the criteria above.

2. Absence will not be regarded as a rationale for late submission of assignments.
