Course Objective

The aim of this course is to help students acquire skills to produce qualified subtitle translations of audio-visual resources such as films, tv series and documentaries

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The students will learn the stages of translating the subtitles.
2   They will be able to analyze and translate audio-visual texts of different themes and styles.
3   They will be able to explain their decisions.
4   They will be able to determine the translation strategies they will use in the light of translation theories.
5   They will learn about concepts, terms, idioms and structures specific to the field.
