Course Objective

Introduce the basic aspects/features of scientific discourse and provide the use of them in the study of academic thexts which are prepered specifically for teaching Turkish as a foreign language.

1   Identify the scientific discourse studies and their general features
2   Find out the features of scientific texts thta are written in the field of Turkish
3   Identify the centering theory and use the centering theory in Turkish academic texts
4   Determine the topic and topic continuity in Turkish scientific texts
5   Determine metadiscourse features in Turkish scientific texts
