Course Objective

The aim of this course is to cope with problems of Ottoman Social Historiography

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to recognize main references in the area of the Social History
2   to keep up with recent developments about Ottoman Social Historiography
3   to state concept of "Ottoman Social Historiography" as written and verbal
4   to comprehend works of Social Historiography with using methodology of history
5   to keep up with recent studies that carried out in the area of the Social History

6 Backgrounds and developments of the social historiography in Turkey
7 Importance of Ottoman chronics with regards to social history

9 Ottoman Historiography of fifteenth century and Social History
10 Ottoman Historiography of sixteenth century and Social History
11 Ottoman Historiography of sixteenth century and Social History
12 Ottoman Historiography of nineteenth century and Social History
13 Ottoman Historiography of twentieth century and Social History
14 to come official discourse into prominence in 1980 and its reflections to the Ottoman Social Historiography Reflections of world conjuncture, which has been changing since 1990, to the Ottoman Social Historiography
