Course Objective

Determining postmodernism in related philosophers theories. Researching and discussing postmodernism effect on visual arts in related artists and their artworks. Discussing aesthetic logic of paradigm shifting from modernism to postmodernism.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describing fundamental differences between modern culture and postmodern culture. 2   Determining historical situation of postmodern art. 3   Discussing classical cultural origins of postmodernism. 4   Describing characteristics of postmodernism and postmodern art. 5   Discussing the connections of romantism and postmodernism in postmodern art. 6   Discussing the connections of avant-garde and postmodernism in postmodern art. 7   Discussing the connections of pop art and postmodernism in postmodern art. 8   Discussing aesthetic logic of postmodern paradigm.
