Course Objective

The aim of this course is the acquisition of basic knowledge about metabolism. Trainers will get knowledge about on energy resources of the cell, catabolic reactions, oxidative phosphorylation and metabolism of some building blocks (purine, pyrimidine) and some proteins derived from amino acids, coagulation mechanism and coagulation proteins. All learning outlines will be supported by problem based learning techniques.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to comprehend and understand of the principles of metabolism of a cell. (Knowledge).
2   Be able to have a basic theoretical knowledge on cellular metabolism (Knowledge) .
3   Be able to analyses information related with cellular metabolism (Analysis)
4   Be able to interpret metabolism related problems on various models (Synthesis)
5   Be able to present the research findings and academic topics related to metabolism to academic and non-academic community. (Communication)

Assessment Criteria

1. Basic information on the cellular metabolism of learner will be evaluated with final exam and their performance in PBL session.
2. The ability of learner to merge and to interpret the metabolism-related theoretical information in scenarios will be evaluated in group works.
3. The competence of learner on communication and information transfer will be evaluated by PBL sessions.
