Course Objective

It s aimed that the student should achieve fundamental basis to follow English literature in the field of audiology by taking Vocational English Course. Particularly to teach English terms related to subjective and objective audiological tests, to read publications and course books, to improve desire to try to understand, to increase English vocabulary that be able to follow developments related to hearing aids .

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows English terms commonly written in publications related to hearing test devices such as pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, acoustic immitansmetry, otoacoustic emission testing and brainstem auditory evoked potentials .
2   Understands the publications about hearing devices.

1 Vocabulary, reading and comprehension on english text related with pure tone audiometry
2 Vocabulary and comprehension on english text related with speech audiometry
3 Discussion on a publication in english related with pure tone and speech audiometry
4 Vocabulary and comprehension on english text related with acoustic immitancemetry
5 Vocabulary and comprehension on english text related with evoked otoacoustic emission test
6 Discussion on a publication in english related with acoustic immitancemetry and evoked otoacoustic emission test
7 1. Mid-term exam
8 Vocabulary and comprehension on english text related with brainstem auditory evoked responses
9 Vocabulary and comprehension on english text related with hearing aids
10 Discussion on a publication in english related with brainstem auditory evoked responses and hearing aids
11 During the audiological evaluation to give the ability to communicate with a patient whom you will have to speak english.
12 Homework presentation: Short presentation in english of the different hearing tests
