Course Objective

The purpose of this course is, students' comprehension of the vestibular system anatomy and physiology, then what are the pathologies of the peripheral vestibular system of central vestibular system and to learn which tests for the separation from each other of these pathologies.

1   Defines the anatomy and physiology of vestibular system
2   Observes the deficits of vestibular system
3   Defines the vestibular tests
4   Defines the differential diagnosis tests of vestibular system
5   Demostrates the basic principal of vestibular tests while performing the tests.

2 The structure responsible for ensuring the balance
3 Fundamentals of anatomy and physiology peripheral vestibular system
4 Fundamentals of anatomy and physiology central vestibular system
5 General classification of Dizziness and balance disorders
6 Common causes of dizziness and balance disorders
7 1st Midterm Exam
8 General approach to the patient with dizziness and balance disorders
9 Other objective and subjective audiologic tests; recording eye movement; ENG test; VNG test; positional Tests; walking tests
10 Various pathologies observed in Specific vestibular test results
11 Testing errors, error margins and their elimination
12 Presentation of Assignment 1: ENG application video recording and demonstration
13 Presentation of Assignment 2: Bithermal caloric test application video recording and demonstration Presentation of Assignment 2: Vestibular examination video recording and demonstration
