Course Objective

To ensure students to have practical and theoretical knowledge of interpretation and understanding principles and methods of the Quran according to F. Razi and Ibn Taymiyya.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will obtain knowledge about the revelation according to F. Razi and Ibn Taymiyya.
2   They will possess the tafseer bi r-rivaye (by the wievs of predecessors) according to F. Razi and Ibn Taymiyya.
3   They will possess the tafseer bi d-diraye (by the mind) according to F. Razi and Ibn Taymiyya.
4   The students will be informed of the methodology of F. Razi and Ibn Taymiyya s tafseers.
5   The students will get acquisition of following to the influences of F. Razi and Ibn Taymiyya s tafseers on the others.

4 The concepts of tafseer and te vil according to F. Razi and Ibn Taymiyyah.
5 The methodology of exegesis in the tafseer of F. Razi and Ibn Taymiyyah.
6 Historical context in Tafseer; sabab al nuzûl according to F. Razi and Ibn Taymiyyah.
7 The issue of Naskh and Mansukh; the change of judgements according to F. Razi and Ibn Taymiyyah.
