Course Objective

To ensure students to have practical and theoretical knowledge of interpretation and understanding principles and methods of the Quran according to Imam Maturidi.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will obtain knowledge about the revelation according to Maturidi.
2   They will possess the tafseer bil rivayah (by the wievs of predecessors) according to Maturidi.
3   They will possess the tafseer bil dirayah (by the mind) according to Maturidi.
4   The students will be informed of the methodology of Maturidi s tafseer
5   The students will get acquisition of following to the influences of Maturidi s tafseer on the others.

3 Tafseer in the time of the Prophet and His companions according to Maturidi.
4 The concepts of tafseer and ta vil according to Maturidi.
5 The methodology of exegesis in the tafseer of Maturidi.
6 Historical context in Tafseer; sabab al nuzûl according to Maturidi.
7 The issue of Naskh and Mansukh; the change of judgements according to Maturidi
8 Mid-term Exam
9 History of the Quran and Israiliyyat according to Maturidi.
10 The issue of Muhkam and Mutashabih according to Maturidi
11 The linguistic context in Tafseer of Maturidi.
12 Uslub al Qur'an according to Maturidi.
13 Maan al Qur'an according to Maturidi.
14 The judgements of Quran in the tafseer of Maturidi.
