Course Objective

Covering the formation of all raw and assistant raw materials, minerollogy, chemical compositions, usage in ceramic structures and behaviours after heat treatment in ceramic and glass production

1 General knowledge of ceramic and glass
2 Ceramic raw materials : rocks, silica, kaolinite, illite
3 Ceramic raw materials : Smectite group, halloysite, chlorite
4 Ceramic raw materials : talc, profillite,feldspathics
5 Ceramic raw materials : wollastonite, attapulgite, sepiolite, vermicullite
6 Ceramic raw materials : Carbonates (dolomite, manieezite,calsite),
7 Assitant raw materials, olivine group, plastica and non-plastic raw materials
8 Mid-term exam
9 Frit and glaze raw materials
10 Glass main raw materials
11 Glass rafination materials
12 Glass coloring materials
13 Glass oxiders and reducers
14 Raw materials quality control tests

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This lecture will be processed theoritically in class. Teaching staff will give the subjects by using slides, will discuss with students by asking and answering and will give term works for a better understanding of subjects.
