Course Objective

The examination of substantial content of international instruments on human rights, their effects on internal law and the various control systems especially including the systems related to the classical rights and social rights.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to realize the importance of the international development of human rights
2   To be able to evaluate the meaning of the international conventions about human rights
3   To be able to comprehend the supervisory mechansim of the human rights conventions and the importance of this in terms of Turkish Law
4   To be able to analyze the relationship between Turkish Law and International Human Rights Law

6 European Convention on Human Rights: Content, power of the European Court of Human Rights
7 European Convention on Human Rights: Admissibility Phase and Examination on the merits, impact of the Convention, Rights within the scope of the Convention and the borders of these rights
8 Exam
9 European Social Charter
10 UN Treaties : General review to the Treaties
11 Supervisory mechanisms of UN Treaties
12 ILO Treaties
13 American Convention on Human Rights and African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights
14 Effect of the international human rights conventions to the Turkish Law
