Course Objective

To teach the American human rights system, human rights conventions and the protection mechanisms which are accepted within the context of Organisation of American States.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have a grasp of the role and importance of the Organisation of American States in protection of human rights.
2   To express the importance and the reform of the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man
3   To have a good command of the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man and additional protocols.
4   To express the human rights' protection mechanisms and especially the functions and missions of the American Court of Human Rights within the American human rights system.
5   To express the rights and freedoms and auditing institutions in American system which are protected by other human rights documents.

7 Power of the precautionary measures decisions of American Human Rights Comission and right to ask for provisional measures from the court

10 Extent and examining procedure of the personal and state applications' within the American Human Rights' System
11 Power and the extent of the provisional measures decisions' of the American Court of Human Rights
12 Recommendations of the American Court of Human Rights
