Course Objective

The course objective is to prepare students for this type of interpreting which is mostly needed in translation market, by interpreting the speeches delivered in EU institutions.

1   Be familiar with the speeches delivered and translation made in EU institutions
2   Know better the structure and discourse of EU
3   Be prepared to interpret in EU projects in translation market

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures comprise both theory and practice. Topics will be discussed in a face-to-face and an interactive way.

Before each lesson, students will be provided with the text, presentation or topics of the forthcoming lesson; be required to be prepared. Students will be expected to participate in classroom practice together with their preparations.

Assessment Criteria

Participation will be graded according to (i) preparedness of the students for the lesson, (ii) quality of students asnwers to the questions of lecturer and (iii) students s contributions to the creation of a constructive learning environment.
