Specific Admission Requirements

Bachelor s Degree; having obtained at least 55 from relevant branch of Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) or from exams equivalence of which are accepted; in case of graduate of Faculty of Medicine having obtained at least 50 from Medical Specialty Exam (TUS); having obtained at least 50 from Foreign Language Exam (YDS) or from other foreign language exams equivalence of which are accepted or at least 55 from the exam held by DEU Foreign Languages Institute. Transcript; having obtained at least 65 from the Post Graduate Science Exam.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective.

Profile of the Programme

Masters Degree in Quality Improvement and Accreditation in Health Care MSc.started education at 2006.The objectives of this programme are obtaining knowledge about improvement in healthcare quality and accreditation, and gaining application, presentation skills, and gaining skills in monitoring new scientific progresses and research knowledge and capability.

Key Learning Outcomes

1   Topics related to the concept of quality, certification, standardization and accreditation and quality concepts to understand the history of the national and international context, adoption, quality basic functions to perceive in the field of health care..
2   Understanding of quality systems in health care facilities, planning and implementation of quality standards, ensuring the continuity of the practices and institutions to be accredited the knowledge to make the process work effectively.
3   Scope and requirements of the international standards, the basic criteria of quality improvement techniques, national, and international scope, quality improvement management in all processes, process control and quality improvement approaches to knowledge and certification issues
4   In cooperation with the staff disciplinary and inter-disciplinary, open to change and possible renewal, with a critical look at the question through scientific point of view, interpret and articulate, and respect of the competency of communication with managers and specialists in the field of educating individuals.
5   According to the results of the subjective and objective analysis of the data to take decisions which will be developed more effectively with statistical analysis, and predict outcomes of these decisions by establishing a cause-effect relationship in the field of public health and to develop strategic approaches
6   With the continuous improvement techniques in the field of quality improvement in health projects, producing a parallel culture of the organization to develop and provide innovative.
7   Human resources in health care facilities job description, job descriptions and create workflows, patient rights, patient safety and risk management analysis and synthesis can, to bring all this data into a document, be able to renew, create a quality manual, internal audit, and to have knowledge of monitor and analyze these processes to be an orphan.
8   Laboratory in accordance with a special interest of people, nursing, information systems for quality in the areas of research, measurements, and make inspections.
9   Technical follow-up of the devices used in health care facilities, the assessment of the organization's structure and make the necessary legal information. And in accordance with the procedures and standard on the evaluation results, organize, ensure continued operation.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Assessment of students was done with 1 midterm examination, 1 final examination, homework and project studies. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB / S / TP grades.

Graduation Requirements

Second Cycle (Masters Degree) Programme with thesis is comprised of courses (at least 54 ECTS), a seminar (2 ECTS), and field study (4 ECTS) and thesis (60 ECTS) credits. İn total 120 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB / S / TP grades.
