General Description

History

Department of Pharmacology was established in 1987. In our department, Pharmacology faculty members are staffed. The time of the programme is 2 semi year lesson and 2 semi year thesis. Totaly 4 semi years. The language of the programme is Turkish

Qualification Awarded

First Cycle (Bachelor s Degree) diploma, minimum score of 55 from the nation-wide Academic Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) in the related fields or 50 in graduate medical residency examination (TUS) , acceptable minimum score of 60 from the Foreign Language Exams (UDS/KPDS) or the equivalent exams scores obtained from TOEFL/IELTS/etc. or being successful at the foreign language examination of the Institute (minimum score of 70) and being successful at the science examination of the Institute in the related fields (minimum score of 65)

Specific Admission Requirements

Bachelor s Degree; having obtained at least 55 from relevant branch of Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) or from exams equivalence of which are accepted; in case of graduate of Faculty of Medicine having obtained at least 50 from Medical Specialty Exam (TUS); having obtained at least 50 from Foreign Language Exam (YDS) or from other foreign language exams equivalence of which are accepted or at least 55 from the exam held by DEU Foreign Languages Institute. Transcript; having obtained at least 65 from the Post Graduate Science Exam.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Transfer Students:
The transfer student candidates from Turkish or foreign universities are subject to the YOK Legislation "The transfer, double degree, minor degree and inter-institutional credit transfer" and to the evaluation conditions determined by Dokuz Eylul University Senate.
The transfer quotas are determined and announced by Turkish Higher Education Council (YOK). The evaluation of the candidates are done by the school evaluation commmisin and approved by the management

The Graduate Transfers:
The short cycle graduates are given the right to be admitted to the first cycle programs if they comply with the conditions set by the "The transfer of Short Cycle Program Graduates to First Cycle Programs" Legilation of Turkish Higher Education Council (YOK)
The universities inform YOK regarding the quotas and YOK announces the quotas and conditions in "Graduate Transfer Guide" and the placements are managed by YOK due to the results of nationwide graduate transfer exam.

According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be
recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing
Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective.

Second Cycle (Master's Degree) Programme with thesis is comprised of courses (at least 54 ECTS), a seminar (2 ECTS), and field study (4 ECTS) and thesis (60 ECTS) credits. İn total 120 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB / S / TP grades

Profile of the Programme

The aim of the Clinical Research Master is educate students who have a knowledge about clinical Drug research and ability to make Clinical drug research. Also the students improve their presentation skills, to follow scientific developments in area and to have knowledge and skills about research. Students may choose lessons in another departments.

1   To know fundamental concepts related with clinical pharmacology and to be able to use them in his/her career.
2   To know and to be able to implement the current national and international regulations for clinical trials
3   To know and to be able to implement the fundamental concepts of clinical trials
4   To know, to be able to implement and interpret the fundamental concepts of bioistatistics in clinical trials
5   To be knowledgeable in performing clinical trials in special populations and to be able to find solutions when needed
6   To read, to comment literature, to earn ability to adaptation of the changes in science
7   To have knowledge in a foreign language, to make oral and poster presentations in foreign congresses and to write manuscript
8   To have ability to work in a group and have ethical responsibility
9   Have learning behavior in all life, communication with colleagues
10   To be aware of his/her adequacy

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Evaluation of the students change according to lesson. Some lessons are evaluated with presentation and final, some lessons are evaluated only final exam and some lessons are evaluated with project and laboratuary success. Students have to take minimum 75.
