Course Objective

Curse objective is to underline and recognize the importance of definition of the Universe and its components; to recognize the basic astronomical views; to be able to obtain the skills for usage the physical and mathematical knowledge about real events, and to obtain some knowledge on the space science and relevant technological developments.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   By the help of learn the concepts of astronomy and space science, in the levels of knowledge, comparison, application, analysis, syntesis and evaluation; be able to think analytically and in three dimensions,
2   Be able to use the technologies of knowledge
3   Be able to make observation
4   Be able to willing for the preparation of projects
5   Be able to use the tools about course activities
6   Be able to make for the modeling and models.

1 Defining and developments of Astronomy
2 What are the basic astronomical magnitudes Scales in the universe (how to measure distance, mass, etc.)
3 The formation of the universe, the hypothesis and the general structure of the universe
4 Known universe facts, basic forces forming the universe
5 Sky observations, Kepler Law, general gravitational law
6 Solar System, solar and structure, solar and lunar eclipses
7 Structure of the Earth and the Moon, movements of world
8 Review, evaluation of the course, midterm
9 Other planets in the solar system, asteroid belts and meteors
10 Our site in the universe, constellations, comets, galaxies
11 Meteor, meteor and asteroids, evolution of stars
12 Scientists contributing to astronomy
13 Current views on the existence of the universe, space technology (space mechanics, communication satellites, space pollution)
14 Turkish satellite technologies
15 Final exam
