Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach students the importance of the Middle Ages in European history and to provide them with the knowledge of the transformations in political, social and cultural life which the European history underwent from the end of Western Roman Empire to the 15th century.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   List the primary and secondary sources on the history of Medieval Europe
2   Identify major events and milestones in the political, social, and cultural history of Medieval Europe
3   Identify major characters in Medieval European history
4   Explain the emergence of Feudalism and how it works
5   Summarize the role of the church in European history
6   Describe the influences of Medieval Europe on the emergence of modern European civilization
