Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students summarize the general lines of of Ottoman history from the era of Mehmed II to the era of Selim II

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. To be able to explain Mehmed II s period in general terms
2   2. To be able to interpret the conquest of Istanbul and the reorganization of the state by Mehmed II
3   3. To be able to explain Ottoman-Iranian and Ottoman-Mamluk relations during Selim I's period
4   4. To be able to show the enlargement of the Empire on the map
5   5. To be able to explain Süleyman's period in general terms
