Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach students events and developments that took place in the Ottoman Empire from the French Revolution to the fall of the empire.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to define the basic elements of Ottoman central administrative structure in Tanzimat period.
2   To be able to summarize the changes in Ottoman central administrative structure in Tanzimat period.
3   To be able to explain the importance of Edict of Reform
4   To be able to explain the importance of the First Ottoman Constitution of 1876
5   To be able to analyze the path to the World War I
