Course Objective

Bring in the knowledge that could be useful in teaching Turkish as mother tongue, introducing methods and techniques that could be used, preparing the prospective teachers for teaching this course in class though the performed applications and sharing these knowledge produced in this field of education

3   3. Being able to improve the skills of decision making, creative thinking, problem solving and critical thinking while reading and writing

1 Contemporary methods and techniques that can be used in teaching Turkish;
2 Development of reading, writing, listening, speaking and understanding skills; identification and elimination of reading difficulties;
3 Structure of reading texts; teaching poetry, informative and narrative texts, reading and writing between texts; to construct meaning from texts, to improve vocabulary,
4 Media literacy (visual reading and presentation), reading and technology use,
5 Questions and types related to meaning formation from texts; development of critical thinking through reading and writing;
6 Rapid reading and techniques; main idea teaching and methods; the aims, types and rules of reading;
7 Instructional technology applications in Turkısh learning areas
8 General Review, Course Evaluation and Midterm Exam
9 Assessment of reading, writing, listening, speaking and understanding;
10 Evaluation of reading, writing, listening, speaking and understanding;
11 Examination of primary school Turkish program, relation with other courses
