Course Objective

The aim of this course: to introduce basic concepts and institutions of media law to the students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to determine the prevailing principles of media law.
2   Be able to identify similarities and the differences between the concepts of the written, visual, aural media.
3   Be able to explain the concept of the Media Law.
4   Be able to reveal their connection to other branches of law with Media law.
5   Be able to determine Media law within framework arrangements for the statutory, doctrinel criticism and given the judicial decisions
6   Be able to identify problems that may have emerged in the field of Media Law.
7   Be able to dominate the issues in the light of the prevailing principles of media law.
8   Be able to produce critical, reasoned and open to debate opinions in media law.

1 General informations about the aim of the lesson and the content of the lesson; to inform about method and plan of the course and to provide to the students necessary materials related to the lesson.
2 The basic concepts of media law.
3 - The historical development of media law -The developments in Turkish Law and Comparative Jurisprudence
4 -The legislation in the our law in the field of Media Law and the connection of the Media law with other branches of law -Reasons for the protection of freedom of the press and purposes
5 -The reflection of the freedom of the press that is in the Media Law -Effective persons and organizations about the protection of freedom of the press
6 -The Special provisions for the workers of the idea who work at media organizations and periodical institutions
7 -The system of self-superintendence in the periodical publications
8 -The criminal liability under the Press Law -The criminal liability under the TRT Law No. -2954
9 The criminal liability under the law of No. 5651 on the Internet Publications -The criminal responsibility under the Law of No. 6112 on Radio and Television Enterprises and Broadcast Services
