Course Objective

The objective of this course is to introduce students to the fundamentals of managing information systems and to provide students with usage of accounting information systems and tools relevant to the area.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand the role and purpose of Accounting Information Systems in order to manage a business.
2   Be able to design business processes and represent them with documentation tools in order to support decision making and control.
3   Design and implement well-structured databases to enable business processes.
4   Be able to evaluate internal control in information systems and design controls to mitigate risks associated with information systems.
