Course Objective

The aim of the course is to promote the functioning of the Money and Capital markets, financial instruments traded in these markets, capital market institutions and major activities of these institutions in Turkey.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to distinguish the money and capital markets. 2   To be able to explain the basics of the financial system. 3   To be able to explain the capital market instruments and the characteristics of market. 4   To be able to describe the activities of the capital market. 5   To be able to explain the ISE Stock Market operations. 6   To be able to explain the ISE Bonds and Bills Market operations.

Week Subject Description 1 Basic information about the financial system, money and capital market in Turkey and development process of these markets. 2 General characteristics of joint stock companies that are subject to capital market legislation. 3 Registered and based capital system, capital increases. 4 Capital market tools and features. 5 General characteristics of bonds and bond investments. 6 General characteristics of the stocks and stock investments. 7 Capital market institutions. 8 Midterm exam. 9 Midterm exam. 10 Capital market activities (repo - reverse repo, brokerage activities, etc.). 11 IPO(Initial Public Offering) process. 12 Istanbul Stock Exchange Stock Market Transactions. 13 Istanbul Stock Exchange Stock Market Transactions. 14 Futures and Options Exchange and other markets
