Course Objective

The main objective of the course is to teach sampling methods to be able to create statistical reliable survey research

4   To be able to reveal problems encountered in field research

1 The history of survey sampling, and basic sampling concepts
2 Introduce to probability and non-probability sampling methods
3 Simple random sampling: estimation of population total, mean and ratio
4 The estimation of sample size
5 Stratified random sampling: estimation of population total, mean and proportion
6 Proportional, Neyman and Optimum Allocation and the sample size.
7 Proportional, Neyman and Optimum Allocation and the sample size.
8 Mid-term

10 Systematic sampling
11 Cluster Sampling
12 Single stage cluster sampling: clusters of equal sizes
13 Single stage cluster sampling: clusters of unequal sizes
14 Sources of error in surveys
