Course Objective

Structural systems and construction types of historical buildings in a historical cycle; structural members and mechanical properties of conventional structures, behavior of structural members of historical buildings, loads on conventional buildings; structural behavior of masonary buidings and load effects on them; investigation of reasons of distruption on historical buildings.

For mid term, students will be responsible for all lecture notes up to the mid term. FInal test will be given by the end of the semester.

Assessment Criteria

Students are expected to integrate their background with civil engineering approaches. The main aim is to bring engineering aspects to restoration for historical buildings.
Mid term and presentations: % 50 ( LO1, LO2, LO3 )
Final Test: % 50 ( LO4, LO5, LO6 )
