Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine knowledge society and basic features of knowledge economics in social settlement with Turkey s existing social structure and the transition policy to knowledge society

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to be able to learn the multiple, integrated and organic configuration of system, structure and process relations of social problems by the system analysis approach based on the social as a whole. 2   to be able to learn interact relations and organic cumulative network interaction relations in social Toto 3   to be able to learn the basic features of the knowledge society and the effects on economy science. 4   to be able to learn the effects of production, usage and the economic impacts of knowledge and to learn the causes of development disparities between countries. 5   to be able to learn to resolve the social structure of Turkey and to learn the necessary policies for transition to knowledge society.

Week Subject Description 1 Knowledge and knowledge types. 2 Conversion of agricultural society to industrial society 3 Conversion of Industrial society to Knowledge society: Transition of Newtonian paradigm to Quantum Paradigm 4 Knowledge society and generated conditions 5 Parameters of knowledge society, cross-national comparisons, and Country Examples 6 Basic Properties and Structure of the Knowledge Society 7 The effects of Knowledge Society to subfield of social Toto. 8 Knowledge Economics and features, indicators of Knowledge Society, and comparisons between countries. 9 Production processes of knowledge and intellectual capital 10 Midterm Exam 11 The Effects of Knowledge Economy on Macroeconomics: Employment, Growth, Income Distribution, Price Stability, External Balance. 12 The Effects of Knowledge Economy on Microeconomics: Company Structure, Entrepreneurship, Market Structure, and the effects on Consumption and Production. 13 The Effects of Knowledge Economy on Economy Policy 14 Current Social Structure of Turkey and transition policy to the Knowledge Society
