Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide the students a detailed insight into the methods, procedures and techniques required for Pre-Mix and Final Mix in audio post production industry.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Grasp and combine the elements of audio post production industry like Sfx, Atmosphere, Foley, Dialogue and Music,
2   Build the technical relationships between Pre-Mix and Final Mix,
3   Grasp the differences between Re-Recording Mixing and Version mixing,
4   Gain ability to creating M&E mixes from mix stems,
5   Grasp Dolby Mastering and delivery requirements.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course will be carried out with lectures and real-time applications. The course instructor explains the audio post production operations and demonstrates them to the students. All students apply the operations individually in order to familiarize themselves with the procedures. Each week audio post production concepts and techniques are shown.

70% course attendance is mandatory.
The students are responsible with the use of the computer lab, recording studio and all the equipment.
Students who wish to practice individually or as a group should inform the course instructor and schedule their practice sessions taking available lab hours into account.
Only students taking this course are allowed to attend courses and practice sessions. No one else other than the attendants of the course should be allowed in the lab or the studio, even if he/she is a student of the music technology department or not.
