Course Objective

Teaching the students both the process of historical development and artistic and technical features of Turkish Tiles

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe the tiles production technique and its technology from Great Seljuk to Çanakkale Ceramics in 20th. Century.
2   Inform of the variety techniques used in tiles production
3   Distinguish the figure-composition features of tiles
4   Express the stages of traditional ceramics in the historical process.
5   Identify the area of usage of Turkish Tiles as place, space and dimension.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Students will be given a mid-term and a final exam concerning the subjects given theoretical. The pass grade will be determined by the midterm and final exam grades.

Assessment Criteria

The midterm, studies and the final exam will be evaluated out of 100; the 20% of the midterm, the 30% of the Presentation,Class Participation %10 and the 40% of the final exam will determine the pass grade. The evaluation of the two exam questions will be given to the students

Course Policies and Rules

Students who come from after starting time of the course, even taken to the course, will be evaluated as participant a half-time. At the end of each lecture topics will be covered in the next lesson and the students are offered as a subject of their studies. The course begins before the first presentation of the studies.
