Course Objective

Preparation of clothes patterns are aimed on drape models.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Preparation of body forms three-dimensionally on dummies
2   Being able to perform darts on upper body
3   Being able to perform modeling tries with a sample of fabric sample
4   Being able to convert a desired model after forming it on the model
5   Preparing the patterns by completing the required regulations

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 To know the necessary model, fabric and material suitable to the aim of the drape. To know the body anatomy and to measure the size of the model
2 To be able to determine the centre front, centre back, body, waist, hip, art girth, collar girth lines on the model.
3 Applying the drape techniques ( etching with darts, cup study, leaving looseness, making correction)
4 Some applications on body forms. Chest and waist dart studies on the front part. Shoulder and waist dart studies on the back part.
5 Performing dart study and shoulder and side seam fastening on a simple cloth form
6 Study crew neck blouse with draping method
7 Studying basic skirt pattern with draping method
8 Studying corset skirt pattern with draping method
9 Studying basic dress pattern with draping method
10 Studying selected model's application on draping model during the course hours and assessment.
11 Studying corset applications with draping method
12 Studying corset applications with draping method
13 Studying various draped and freeform applications with draping method
14 Studying various bias cut applications with draping method
