Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine gender from the viewpoint of Social Psychology. Gender differences in socialization process will be discussed from the perspective of Social Psychology. Topics include the effect of gender on identity, self, and interpersonal relationships.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to define basic social psychological concepts related to gender.
2   Being able to explain main social psychological approaches in gender.
3   Being able to give examples recent social psychological research on gender.
4   Being able to describe the importance of research on gender differences for different subfields of psychology.
5   Being able to contribute to current research in the subject of gender differences.
