Course Objective

The aim of this lecture is to know the calibration, basic principles of measurement and measuring equipments and types of errors.

1   Knows the basic principles of measurement and measuring equipments. 2   Knows the necessary fields of measuring for the health and safety of workplace. 3   Follow the technologic improvements in respect of measuring equipments

Week Subject Description 1 OHS, measurement and measuring equipments 2 Basic principles of measurement and errors 3 Principles of measurement and measuring equipments 4 Noise measurement, instruments used in noise measurement and legislation 5 Dust measurement, tools and legislation 6 1.Midterm Exam 7 Measurement of thermal comfort (temperature, humidity, air flow rate) measurement, the instruments used in the temperature measurement and legislation 8 Gas and Steam Measurement and tools 9 Legislation in the gas and vapor measurement 10 Vibration measurement, instruments used in vibration measurements 11 Vibration measurement in the legislation 12 Light intensity and sound intensity measurements 13 Lighting measurement assessment

Successful / Unsuccessful *** Resit Exam is Not Administered in Institutions Where Resit is not Applicable.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

It is calculated by taking 40% average grade of Midterm exam, 60% of the final exam success rating.

Assessment Criteria

The understanding degree of students to 3 learning outputs is evaluated by midterm and final exams.
