Course Objective

The objective of this course is to teach heavy equipment operator students about fundamental mechanic problems and solutions

1   Understanding the concepts of force, internal forces and external forces
2   Understanding the relationship between stress and strain
3   Ability to calculate stresses in axial loading, shafts subjected to torsion, shear and normal stresses that can occur in beams
