Course Objective

The goal of this class is to understand issues around health in Turkey and globally in terms of globallization and neo-liberal policies. In addition, we will discuss the health problems caused by neo-liberal policies. Finally, we will offer possible solutions to current problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To become aware of the major approaches to health and illness.
2   To become familiar with the theories and contributions of major figures in the field.
3   To learn to appreciate the necessity of a multi-level explanation of health behavior.
