Course Objective

Translational perspective (from the bed to the lab from the lab to the bed) in cancer, research methods in Preventive Oncology (individuals cancer risk, screening programs and testing; environmental carcinogenesis, Nutrigenomics, population genetics concepts), research methods in Basic Oncology (the diagnostic laboratory techniques; tumor markers), research methods in Clinical Oncology (treatment response, tumor models (in vivo (experimental animals) in vitro (tissue culture), ex vivo models)
advanced molecular methods (hybridization, FISH, flow cytometry, genomics, proteomics, metabolamik, systems biology,molecular cloning, DNA sequencing) in cancer research, treatment technologies (recombinant protein technology,nanobiotechnology, drug design, pharmacogenomics studies, cancer vaccines, cellular modulations) will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Capable of implementing advance molecular epidemiological techniques for cancer research.
2   2. Be able to recognize and comprehend the clinical trial in cancer
3   3. Be able to critically evaluates the published literature in the field of cancer research methods
4   4. Be able to recognize and comprehend the treatment technologies
5   5. Be able to recognize and comprehend the molecular diagnostics in cancer
6   6. Be able to establish a laboratory on cancer research.
