Course Objective

The objective of this course is to learn basic knowledge about histology of organs.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the microscobic and functional features of organs of cardiovascular system, lymphatic system, digestive system, respiratory system, urogenital system, and endocrin systems.
2   Explain the histological features of eye and ear.
3   Recognize all tissues and organs of the animal body at the light microscopic level.

1 Cardiovascular system Overview of cardiovascular system, heart, general features of arteries and veins, capillaries, lymphatic vessels, clinical correlation
2 Lymphatic system Overview of the lymphatic system, cells of the lymphatic system, lymphatic tissues and organs, clinical correlation
3 Lymphatic system Overview of the lymphatic system, cells of the lymphatic system, lymphatic tissues and organs, clinical correlation
4 Digestive system: Oral cavity and assosiated structures Overview of the digestive system, oral cavity, tongue, teeth and supporting tissues, salivary glands, clinical correlation
5 Digestive system: Esophagus and gastrointestinal tract Esopghagus, stomach, small and large intestine, clinical correlation
6 Digestive system: Organs associated with the digestive tract Liver, gallbladder, pancreas, clinical correlations
7 Respiratory system Overview of respirator system, nasal cavities, pharynx, larynx, trachea
8 Respiratory system bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli, blood supply, lymphatic vessels, nerves, clinical correlation
9 Urinary system Overwiew of urinary system, general structure of the kidney, histophysiology of the kidney, ureter, urinary bladder, and urethra, clinical correlation
10 Endocrin system Overview of the endocrine system, pituitary gland (hypophysis), hypothalamus, pineal gland, thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands, clinical correlation
11 Male reproductive system Overview of the male reproductive system, testis, spermatogenesis, excurrent duct system, accessory sex glands, prostate gland, semen, penis, clinical correlation
12 Female reproductive system Overview of the female reproductive system, ovary, uterine tubes, uterus, placenta, vagina, external genitalia, mammary glands, clinical correlation
13 Eye Histology General structure of the eye, microscopic structure of the eye; clinical correlation
14 Ear Histology Overview of the ear, external ear, middle ear, internal ear, clinical correlation
