Course Objective

It is aimed to learn the bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic, neoplastic diseases and nutritional diseases of aquaculture, to gain knowledge and skills about the etiology, epizootiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and protection-control of aquaculture diseases.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To study bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites. To examine bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic diseases.
2   Bacterial, viral and fungal fish and other aquatic products He learns his illnesses. Laboratory diagnosis of these diseases, Learn about treatments and prophylaxis
3   Fish and other fisheries infectious, nutritional, metabolic, etiology, pathogenesis in toxic and neoplastic diseases,
4   Defines the lesions of these diseases; verbally and in writing can express.
5   Learns preventive medicine practices for fish and other aquaculture

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Anatomical and physiological characteristics of aquatic animals (Rainbow Trout, Sea Bream, Sea Bass, Shrimp, Mussel, Oyster, Crayfish and Lobster)
2 Basic principles of rainbow trout, sea bream and sea bass farming and techniques for aquaculture
3 Basic principles of shrimp, mussel, oyster, crayfish and lobster breeding and techniques used in breeding crustaceans and arthropod aquatic animals.
4 Systematic examination methods in cultured aquatic animals, taking morbid material and sending the morbid material to the laboratory
5 Factors causing stress in aquatic animals and prevention of stress, Motil Aeromonas Septicemia, Furunculosis, Pseudomoniasis, Etiology, epizootology, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and protection-control in vibriosis infections
6 Etiology, epizootology, symptom, diagnosis, treatment and protection-control in photobacteriosis, Flavobacteriosis, Yersiniosis, Salmonid rickettsial septicemia and Winter ulcer (Moritella viscosa) infections
7 Laktokokoz, Streptokokoz, BKD (bakteriyel böbrek hastalığı) ve Mikobakteriyoz enfeksiyonlarında etiyoloji, epizootoloji, semptom, tanı, tedavi ve koruma-kontrol
8 Diagnosis, treatment and protection-control in fish diseases caused by nutritional diseases, neoplastic diseases and other non-microbiological factors
9 Etiology, epizootiology, symptom diagnosis, treatment and protection-control in infections caused by RNA (VHS, IHN, SVC, IPN, ISA VNN) and DNA (EHN, Lymphocystis and Fish pox) viruses in cultured aquatic animals
10 Fungal diseases seen in cultured aquatic animals etiology, epizootology, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and protection-control
11 Immune system and vaccination methods in fish
12 Diagnosis, treatment and protection-control of parasitic diseases in aquaculture
13 Global approaches to the control of aquatic animals
14 Notifiable diseases seen in crustaceans and arthropods (Crayfish, Bonamia exitiosa, Perkinsus marinus, Microcytos mackini, Bonamia ostreae) etiology, symptoms, diagnosis, protection-control
