Course Objective

Course Objective
The course aims to equip undergraduate students of Faculty of Medicine with the basic grammar structures and basic communication patterns of English as an international language.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Can understand phrases and the highest frequency vocabulary related to areas of most immediate personal relevance.
2   2. Can communicate in simple, routine tasks.
3   3. Can use a series of simple phrases and sentences to describe his past, educational background and basic needs.
4   4. Can understand short, clear and simple messages and announcements.
5   5. Can write a series of simple phrases and sentences, using simple linking words.
6   6. Can read short and simple texts on daily topics which consist of high frequency every day or job-related language.
7   7. Is aware of the importance of English as an international language
8   8. Is aware of the importance of lifelong learning

Academic year success point is calculated according to the cumulative averages of midterm exams, quizzes, presentations and online homework. The total of 40% of the academic year success point and 60% of the final exam point must be at least 65 to be considered successful in the course.
