Course Objective

Database development using complex database programming techniques emphasizing multiple interrelated files, menu design, security implementation, and multiple access. Procedural SQL will be used to study control constructs, cursors, exception handlers, procedures, functions, and data warehousing.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have a good understanding of database concept.
2   Have ability to construct and manage database with using MS Access.
3   Designing conceptual model of a database
4   Have ability to use the procedural SQL.
5   Data manipulation and query by using SQL language

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course is taught in a lecture, class presentation and discussion format. Besides the taught lecture, group presentations are to be prepared by the groups assigned and presented in a discussion session. In some weeks of the course, results of the homework given previously are discussed.
