Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide information about basic concepts and institutions of competition law.

1   To learn concepts and institutions of competition law.
2   To determine problems arising from application of competition law.
3   To prevent and to solve the problems which may occur from the application of competition law.

1 The historical development of Competition Law and Policy.
2 The scope and the purpose of the Law related to Protection of Competition
3 Prohibited activities: Agreements between undertakings limiting competition
4 Prohibited activities: Concerted practices between undertakings limiting competition. - Assignment (transfer) of rights to claim.
5 Prohibited activities: Decisions and practices of associations of undertakings limiting competition. - Unjust enrichment
6 Exemption
7 Revocation of exemption and negative clearance decision
8 Abuse of Dominant Position: Abusive cases
9 Mergers and Acquisitions
10 Competition Authority and its Organization; Duties and the powers of the Competition Board.
11 Procedure in examinations and inquiries of the board; Decisions of the board; appealing against decisions of the board.
12 Private Law consequences of limiting competition; compensation for the damage
